@ Kevin KOB.  The powers that be at RPOL have no idea what you are writing about. Be specific and tell me what you are writing about... "yet it removed legally-supported, factually-documented in public records such as 911 calls, police incident reports, phone messages, hospital and doctor records, and council meetings, specific incidents of the mayor, police chief, boro manager, and our jokes for cops covering up a numerous traffic violations, a hit-n-run, assaults, threats, and harrassment occurring in Ridley Park and being committed by Ridley Township."

Amazing that Riddle Park Online Powers That Be allowed this despicable invasion to stand on its, wait, OUR, site, yet it removed legally-supported, factually-documented in public records such as 911 calls, police incident reports, phone messages, hospital and doctor records, and council meetings, specific incidents of the mayor, police chief, boro manager, and our jokes for cops covering up a numerous traffic violations, a hit-n-run, assaults, threats, and harrassment occurring in Ridley Park and being committed by Ridley Township
Police. THIS post may not last but the truth will.

Guess it didn't do any good to withhold my name!

As someone who lives in Midgetville, I resent this kind of trash.  Adults, kids and assorted dingbats come hiere looking for the midgets.  They drive very fast, honk horns at all hours, run over our lawns, trash sthe neighborhood and in general are not nice people.  And since no midget has ever lived in this area, I repeat, no midget has ever lived in this area, I wondet what these nuts would do to one, if one did.  Would they hurt them?  Kill them?  Make fun of them?  To have our local online paper keep up the ledgend I find revolting.  Please tell everyone that there are no midgets here.  It is an architectual thing with the houses.  They are the backs of the houses that people see and it is a private road - originally a cartway - and you step down from the doorway.  Not a midget door!  ANd the windows are casement windows - not double hung - and so that is the appearance.  How would you like it if people peeped into your windows at all hours hoping to see a midget.  If it was your daughter or your wife being peeped at would you like it?  I don't think so....Name withheld due to probable midget hunters zeroing in on me....

Local legend and the book "Weird Pennsylvania" locate Midgetville across the street from Taylor Hospital. Midgetville refers to the legend of a town consisting of scaled-down houses built for little people.
Sportbominable answering a blog about Midgetville on Weird US Message Board says the real story behind Midgetville came from County historian Keith Lockhardt who told her the real answer behind Ridley Park's Midgetville.

Sportbominable attributes Keith Lockhardt telling her "English-born cotton broker Norman P. Sloan built the development named "Stoney Brook" around 1911. The homes were built in the style of small English Tudor homes" (with the windows positioned lower on the house than usual by design, it added to the speculation that little people lived in them), "which earned them the moniker "Midgetville." The early residents formed an art colony of sorts and this helped fuel the legend. "He rented the homes--about 12 in all--until about 1928, when he sold them all off. The development remained intact until the late 1960s, but there is no record of any of them ever being inhabited by little people." Since then, many of the homes have been modernized with second stories and vinyl siding, so they don't appear that small anymore."

Really? You've got to be kidding me? I grew up in "midgetville" in the late 60s and early 70s, and the cottages were small and quaint and the street was so much nicer and different than what you see now. Each house had a different name of a flower. Mine was Gardenia. Coming from this 5'9 woman, I had absolutely no problem walking around in my house. Did you know the Carradine family owned one of the houses? (David Carradine).

The video is absurd and looks like two high school kids had nothing better to do that day.

Please, Ridley, get a life.

Hi Jeannine: I posted it and I have to agree with you that I too was a little uncomfortable with the privacy issue, but I didn't shoot the video. I just believe that those folks have been hounded for years by onlookers and trespassers of all sorts and by getting to the bottom of this famous rumor I might be able to offer some "relief" to a small cluster of Ridley Township residents. Ridley Park's Migetville continues to be the biggest topics in email's I received about Ridley Park and I had a notion to go there myself and report it first hand. Then it struck me that those folks must be sick and tired of people wanting to debunk this myth, so I personally respected that "I" was not going over to Ridley Township and disrupt the lives of those folks for the million'th time - no wonder the Midgetville urban legend involves the tale that visitors to Midgetville were pelted with stones. SO I stayed away and found the video instead. I think it's rather lame of a community journalist like me to back out of a first-hand assignment, then again I think this videos' intrusion and my story successfully debunks the myth. Hopefully my story about Midgetville and this video will forever more keep folks from pestering Ridley Township residents about Ridley Parks' Midgetville. Thanks for your comments.

This is a disgusting invasion of their privacy. I'm sickened that it is featured on the Ridley Park Online website. Shame on everyone involved.
