"Holy frozen big-ones Batman, someone forgot to take the public toilet out of Recreation Field for the winter."

And there it sits; bright and blue, and hidden under the lower branches of the tall evergreens only to be seen by the needy and those residents who love ABC Field.

Residents were told the outdoor station was to relieve athletes and spectators at sports games who otherwise, would and might, relieve themselves on the nearby shrubbery. All that sports drink has to go someplace...

So we came to understand from specialists in the matter, that the need to relieve oneself at Recreation Field is more prevalent than at other sports fields in the Borough, so it was only natural that Recreation Field needed an outdoor toilet.

The trouble is, most residents don't want bright blue to be the Go-To-Option in their neighborhood when somebody can't wait until the WaWa down the street.

@Howard,

The port-o-toilet you photographed was in Recreation Park which is the RP Borough Public Park in our R-1 residential neighborhood bordered by Barker, Park, Tasker and Thayer Streets.  Thanks again for your attention to  our quality of life.

I would like to thank you Howard for bringing this to our attention.  The parks in Ridley Park belong to everyone, not a select few. Common sense dictates that the potty should have been removed as winter set in. One thing Ridley Park is missing is common sense.

@Bill Rouse: I'm sure I didn't blame anyone for the outhouse in the Park, I only reported what's been written to me by several residents and what I saw with my camera lens.  Reporting fact is not to be confused with complaining about the borough. The fact is, someone should have removed the outhouse in winter. I also think RP should consider a vote by council about porta pots in other RP parks and not just ABC Field.

In reality Bill, I don't know that people do know who put the porta potty there.  I certainly didn't know. You missed my point about asking boro council. If people who reside in Ridley Park have a question or suggestion or complaint, the place to direct it is to boro council. Frankly, I didn't even know there was one up there until the post appeared on RPOL. That's what this site is for..to keep residents informed and I think it does a pretty good job of it.  Thank you Howard!

With all do respect Mrs. Zang everyone knows who put the porta potty there. Just ask Tim he's the one who told everyone and last I checked I was never on Borough Council!

@Bill...with all due respect, I don't believe anywhere in Howards' post that he mentions the RPAC. How is anyone suppose to know if it's there on the authority of boro council or if it's the RPAC.  I think questions regarding anything going on in the boro should go to council. I don't think anyone did anything wrong by questioning the boro about the situation. Good to know it's gone though.

All you had to do was ask the RPAC to have it removed for the winter...but that would be to easy because you couldn't come on here and blame the council (which has nothing to do with the potty). Have a wonderful night.

P.S. GO PARKERS!

Yes, THANK YOU RPOL,

Your attention to the condition of our Park is appreciated.

I noticed the port-o-toilet being loaded onto a truck and hauled away last Friday.

...now for a much needed review of conditions and Code violations at ALL of our Borough Parks...

PS:  @MJ320,  The public Park between Park and Barker Streets is named "Recreation Park."

Your voices must have been heard. I was driving by what I _think_ is ABC field yesterday, and I didn't see this out there...

...if you have to use the outhouse in sub-freezing weather, wouldn't your ass stick to the seat? ...just sayin'...
