Ridley Park Residents Deserve Better - Why we are running for Council

I am Jared Brennan and I was born and raised in Ridley Park.  Attended Ridley South Jr. High School and Ridley High School graduating in 1983.  I attended West Chester University for a year and then worked for DHL Express for 23 years.  I continue to pursue my Business degree at West Chester University. ( 9 credits to go ) I am currently employed by Schenker Inc, a Freight Forwarding Leader, globally.  From 1983 until 2010 I coached lacrosse for The Ridley Youth (Folsom) and High School teams which I miss and enjoyed immensely.  Recently I decided to return to politics in Ridley Park when I was asked to run with two great residents and extremely intelligent candidates for Council.  Maripat King and Mike Gale.  One of my honors and privilege was to serve on Ridley Park Council from 2010 to 2013.

A major responsibility was serving as the councilor in charge of the Highway Department and Parks and Properties.  Along with the highway workers, we rebuilt and re organized the entire highway department from the inside out.  Brought back the pride and importance of what our highway crew does on a daily basis for Ridley Park.  Keeping the parks and lake in well-maintained appearances was top priority.  Something that seems to have been lost lately.  I was also a major part of the founding group that organized and began Main Streets of Ridley Park, which runs the Farmer's Market and Fall Festival in October annually.  Danielle, Ridley Park Florist, was our incredible leader.  So many other residents, business owners and volunteers that made Main Streets the success that it is today.  The group of councilors that I served with worked well as a unit for most of my first two years on council.  Fiscal responsibility and transparency were the obligation not just the spoken words or catch phrases used by our council.  Politics has a funny way of changing some councilors and that is why we need people who will deliver and respect the residents, not just give them lip service.

The three of us are obligated to serve the residents and that is what impresses me the most about Maripat and Mike.  We will listen to the residents and try our best to deliver the results that are expected from an obligated Council.  There will be no limit to how long you speak at the podium.  You will have the time to express what your concern is and we will listen.  Many know me as a person who is not afraid to speak his mind and will take on ANYONE who is not living up to the high standards and expectations of the Ridley Park residents.  I will always have a strong opinion and will always speak up, but I will also be the first to admit when I am wrong.  Honesty and integrity is what I will bring to the council, so I am asking for you to vote for Maripat, Mike, and me.  We are running first and foremost as Ridley Park Residents, not a political party.

Strong leadership is what Ridley Park needs.  You, Mike and Maripat have that. The residents want answers to their questions. Worse than the lip service residents receive is the runaround we get.  Things like, fill out a RTK, they will send a resident a follow up email, etc  You three have a lot of support in the borough. I know you have 8 votes here!!
