Ridley Park Police: Hot pursuit, car crash at the U-Haul & The Barn; suspects nabbed

Two retail theft suspects are in custody facing a long list of charges after leading police in Springfield, Morton, Prospect Park, Ridley Township and Ridley Park on a high-speed chase that ended in the arrest of two suspects with no injuries

The DelCo Times reported the suspects were nabbed outside of the U-Haul business on Chester Pike in Crum Lynne around 2:30 p.m.

The incident began around 2 p.m. at the Target store in Springfield, police said. Police attempted to stop the suspected thieves, but they took off in a vehicle down Route 420 toward Morton.

Springfield police called off the pursuit, before a Prospect Park police officer spotted the fleeing car and gave chase. The fleeing vehicle turned onto Chester Pike and traveled through Ridley Park.

The driver of the car lost control near the U-Haul business, crashed into another vehicle then struck the Barn Store. The two suspects were taken into custody and were being processed in Prospect Park, police said. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

The names of the suspects and the charges they face were not immediately available.

The Woodlyn Drug store at Fairview & Jefferson ave was also robbed by two male suspects with ski mask with a hand gun. When I served on council I wanted the borough to look into getting cameras around town, cheaper to have the cameras than to hire more police, just a suggestion to make the borough safer.
