A Nor'ester coming our way and a Winter Storm Warning is in effect ...
8" to 12" inches of wet, heavy, snow and strong winds are expected. The snow begins Monday evening and continues through late Tuesday afternoon.
Heavy snow early Tuesday morning will make many roads impassable - and the Tuesday morning rush hour commute will be best accomplished by dog sled team or cross country skies.
Wet heavy snow accumulation on power lines is also expected to produce widespread power outages and tree limbs falling on power lines are expected to compound our electrical situation.
Expect winds from the northeast at 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph winds overnight to lead to blowing snow, reduced visibility, and additional power outages.
Follow the storm on Ridley Park’s dedicated weather station.
Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and extra blankets and warm clothing in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
Snowfall and ice accumulation forecast maps in addition to experimental probabilistic snowfall information for the latest event are available online
