Opening Day & Easter Egg Hunt Photo Gallery

In walkable Ridley Park everything but the sunshine was present yesterday for the 50th Annual Opening Day Festivities, the welcoming of the Easter Bunny, and the annual Business Association's Easter Egg Hunt.

Opening Day Festivities and RPBA's Easter Egg Hunt were captured by citizen photo journalist Howard McCoy.

The morning's activities started right on time with a group photo of all the teams, the coaches and all the parents.  The annual parade of teams was a traffic stopper with West Ridley, Constitution and Dupont streets filled with 100's of children and parents charged-up and ready to begin the 2011 baseball and softball season in Ridley Park.

With the first pitch tossed and the ceremonies completed the games began without a drop of rain.

By the afternoon, Mother Nature was at her worst with heavy rains and strong winds and a strong crowd of Ridley Park's youngest citizens were shoulder to shoulder together in the Fire House thinking of nothing but the Easter Bunny and hunting for Easter Eggs.

The hard work of the Ridley Park Business Association, Borough Council members and the Ridley Park Fire Company made a broadcast example of cooperation and service to our community at this years' East Egg Hunt; thank you.
