I hope it's OK to post this here. I was taking care of a cat that's been living where I work. I took him home this weekend for safekeeping b/c the place I work was getting its driveways repaved so I thought he'd be safer at my house. I was keeping him on my enclosed front porch. Overnight, he bashed out the screen in my door and got away. I am heartbroken, as I'm sure everyone at work will be. I'm going to post his picture here. I live in the 200 block of West Ridley. If anyone sees him, please let me know. My phone # is 610-521-0159.

The latest on Rocky the cat: he has now almost completely recovered from his ordeal. After 6 weeks of my nursing him back to health under my veterinarian's care, he is now walking almost normally. His left front leg is pretty much back to normal and the paw on that leg is still just a little stiff. He will keep his leg. My thanks for helping with the fund-raiser go to Daisy's Delights, my vet Just for Cats and the Gaslight. You all have been wonderful! So has everyone who has asked about him and expressed concern and caring. I'm thankful to be living in such a caring community!

An update on this poor cat: we thought had been seen where I work in Springfield but early Friday morning he was found on Chester Pike and taken to the Marple Vet Clinic, where his rabies shot had been given. He was wearing the rabies vaccination tag on a "break-away" collar that did not break away (thoughts of a lawsuit over that) so he got his front leg caught in it while trying to take it off. It ended up around his neck & under his armpit. It was too tight there & cut into his leg, causing an infection and cutting to the point where the leg may have to be amputated. Meantime, he was homeless for 5 weeks so is skin & bones. I am taking care of him until he fattens up, then he will be evaluated & see if his leg can stay. If you're Catholic, please pray to St. Francis to intercede for him with God. I could use prayers, too, I'm a nervous wreck over this. I got the phone call about him at 8am yesterday. Didn't eat all day.

Yep, I am so thankful! Considering that it's a Catholic institution I think all of us praying to St Francis to intercede for him made a difference. We prayed him home! Thanks again to all who looked for him.

Amazing is right! I was out looking around for him just 2 days ago. I cannot believe he found his way back to your place of employment. Really amazing.

Good news! The cat actually managed to find his way back to Springfield from RIdley Park and is safe once again at work. Amazing, what cats can do! Thanks to all of you for your support.

Gina, thanks. Can I stop by tomorrow (Sunday) to drop off a flyer? I hope the little guy is OK through all this rain!

Did you happen to notice if he had a bright blue collar on, with a green tag? Thanks for the tip, I went & looked, no luck. But one never knows when the next tip will do it!

I saw a cat wandering while walking my dog on Wednesday, resembled the pix.  Near the foot bridge, railroad tracks, Henderson road area.

There's a good question.  He was homeless and kind of adopted my work place. We named him Rocky but we're not sure that he had yet learned that that's his name.

My daughter and I will keep any eye out for him. Does Kitty Boy have a name he answers to?
