Helping keep the town clean and celebrating Earth Day!  Four year olds get pro-active and pick up several trashbags full of litter with their mom and some rubber gloves.  Big changes start in small places and provide healthy life lessons about how to treat our planet and community.  The children in this picture are showing every little bit counts and you can do your part no matter what age you are :)  Good work!!!!!

Thank you for your positivity and encouragement!  Absolutely, we usually tote plastic bags with us as well - so that no matter where we are we can help keep our town and Earth clean and beautiful!!!! Your example reminded me of what got me and family started doing this; which goes back to when we lived in Glenolden for a few years.  There was an older couple that used to walk around everyday kicking a soccer ball while picking up litter in the park.  Seeing this not only inspired me to carry around plastic bags but to write an article as well.  Who knows, maybe someone will spy us and our families and find that same motivation to help keep Earth clean!!!! :)

That's great - they are starting off right.

Remember though that you don't have to limit yourself to just one day.  My husband and sometimes take a walk with a plastic bag in hand and a set of kitchen tongs!
