Ridley Park's Online Digital Community
On Thursday February 21, 2013 a small energetic group of residents gathered at Borough Hall to re-ignite the recently dormant Ridley Park Historical Society. Our Secretary and Treasurer Ellie Hays coined the phrase about being "history" during the meeting. Many ideas and suggestions about how we can educate residents about the history of Ridley Park were discussed. Our homes seemed to be a logical place to start. Many of our treasured homes have been torn down for more modern homes, but many interesting homes still stand today. The Historical Society would like residents to share their stories about their home. One member of our group talked about a ghost in their home. My present house was the one time home of Captain and Mrs. Noah. An idea was that the Society would ask the residents to "No pun intended", send your pictures, or newspaper clippings, and even memoirs to the Society to share your home's story or history. Please send us COPIES of all the above-mentioned. Donating historical articles or pictures is always welcome. Our next meeting will be in late March where we will discuss the Society's first borough event. If you are interested in joining please contact me by email. New Members and volunteers are welcome and needed. You can also send letters / memoirs to the below address.
