Donators support Ridley Park Police's Heroin Education Program

The Taylor Community Foundation donated $3,800 to Ridley Park Police to continue of the department’s heroin education in local schools. The hard-hitting, gut wrenching all too real program looks to impress kids with the dangers of using heroin. The program is headed by Corporals Robert Frazier and James Nasella of the Ridley Park Police Department.  The officers visit local schools and tell the kids first hand, factual police stories about local kids who have died from heroin.

The newly opened Microtel Inn and Suites in Ridley Township also contributed as 2500 donation to the RPPD. The newly built, 79-room hotel is 100% smoke-free, with easy access off I-95 at the bottom of Stewart Avenue.

Office Nasella told Barbara Ormsby for the DelCoTimes "there have been nine heroin overdose deaths in Delaware County over the past two weeks". “We don’t sugarcoat anything,” Nasella said.
