In a surprising move (to me, anyway) the man who shot Officer Marc Hanly was found not guilty of every charge except "recklessly endangering a civilian".
Whoever owns the billboard that's right next to the Ron Wise Auto Body place just put up a new billboard, higher than the old one had been and also appears to be LED-lit. And it faces Ridley Park. I and my neighbors will see this one all the time; it's also higher than the trees. I see it now so when it's lit I'll probably be able to read it.
Her obituary says she founded the Ridley Park Shade Tree Commission. If there's time to organize this, she should be commemorated this Saturday at the Arbor Day observation.
A rowdy teen party in the 100 block of W Rogers that got out of hand. Police didn't know about it until something was posted on Instagram and Facebook. Come on, couldn't anyone be bothered to call the cops? I'd like to hear an explanation on that one. There were almost 100 people at the party. Doesn't make any sense. The party itself puts RP in a bad light, the neighbors not calling the cops doesn't help.
Levittown has just declared a state of emergency so they're prepared in case the pope's visit causes chaos. I wonder if RP should do the same? I'm picturing tons of people swarming the two train stations & causing all sorts of problems. Has anything been said at council meetings?
Thursday around 8:30PM I came down W Ridley just pas the entrance to the middle school (forget the name of that street) toward the lake, there was white foam on the street. Then I saw more foam on the lake itself. Does anyone know what was going on?

This blog can either be totally ignored as being so far off the wall it isn't funny, or create a firestorm, just please be gentle in your response.
Now we have Havertown so far succeeding in fighting billboards, this is in today's Daily Times:
Everyone, when you clean off your car remember to clean the roof. It's the law. Leaving snow on the roof could create a danger for the driver/s behind you if it lets go & smashes into that car.

Police Chief Tom Byrnes is quoted quite extensively in the Daily Times today. The article shows Ridley Park in a good light, too, with few problems from kids being out after curfew. I just wonder if a 10:30 curfew during the week is too late, I'd like to see it being…Continue
