December 2010, Borough Council Meeting

Ridley Park received good financial news at its meeting Dec. 21 when council president Bob Berger announced the borough received $146,000 from the Central Delaware County Authority as its share of the buy-in proceeds when Upper Providence, Newtown and Edgmont townships became part of the sewer authority. Berger said the money was deposited in the borough's capital reserve account.

Big headache from little snow

By 4 o'clock this afternoon there was a light dusting of snow on Sellers Avenue and a bumper to bumper line of cars in front of my house. The line started around 3PM and hasn't ended since.

Ridley Park Christmas Tree Recycling

Again this year the Ridley Park Highway department will gather used Christmas trees as part of Ridley Park's ongoing effort to keep green.  For a two week period after Christmas, the RP highway Department trucks will patrol our streets looking for trees at the curbside.

Preliminary Budget results - No tax increase in Ridley Park

A preliminary 2011 budget of $5,187,355 presented recently by council shows zero tax increase and no hikes in the trash or sewer fees.



The real estate millage rate will remain at 7.44 mills or $7.44 for each $1,000 of assessed valuation.For a house assessed at $100,000, the tax bill will be $744.
