Santa's Wheels Brightens Christmas

Peg Trill does not need to see the faces of the children her non-profit donates bikes to each Christmas.



“I can almost feel their excitement,” said the Ridley Park resident and founder and president of Santa’s Wheels. “Every year, I think of all these little ones screaming, ‘I’ve got a bike! I’ve got a bike!’ “It’s the greatest feeling in the world.”

Christmas Tree Recycling, a win-win proposition

In the continuing effort to go green, Ridley Park Borough begins recycling used Christmas trees from the curbside throughout the 2 week period after Christmas. This is another win-win proposition from new Council President Bob Bergen (Mr Recycle). Ridley Park GOP regains control

In a surprise move Tuesday night, Democratic Councilman Joe Yorke was ousted as president of borough council after Republican Councilman Nick Miccarelli called for council’s reorganization.



Republican Bob Berger is the new president and Miccarelli is vice president.

Stray dog fee skyrockets in Ridley Park

Ridley Park faces a 450% increase in stray-animal fees come January 1, 2010. Every Delaware County municipality is shocked by the SPCA's increase from $25 to $116 and more than half of Delaware County’s 49 municipalities packed into a meeting at the SPCA to discuss the recent increase in stray-animal costs.

Ridley Park skirts tax hike

Nothing fancy - just the truth

It was nothing fancy - only a small family, some friends, clergy, and a few politco's standing in the rain, gathered together under umbrellas around a tree. The young tree was a hickory about 15 feet tall in Recreation Park (ABC Field) protected behind a wood fence make of white pickets and adorned with a bow someone made of Christmas ribbon.
