Around 1:05 pm today I received a phone call from a resident who advised that Lamar workers were down at the billboard (Hetzel Park) doing work. I was on my way to the doctor's office and had about 30 minutes to stop down and ask questions. The Supervisor of the job said that they were given the release to start work today. When I called Dawn our borough manager, and asked her why weren't we told about this last night at the council meeting, she replied, "we didn't know". I asked when…Continue

9/27/2013 House Takes on Property Tax Debate – This week the House Finance Committee voted to send four school property tax reform bills to the House for consideration. The bills take different approaches to allow school districts to replace property taxes with a combination of earned income tax, mercantile tax, or business tax, if a local school board believes those taxes are a better fit for funding its district.

The Ridley High School marching band plays for football games, but did you know they also compete? On Sunday November 10 they went to the states championships in Hershey, and took SECOND PLACE competing against 11 other bands in their division, with a score of 92.8. They also took the award for best percussion and most improved.
These kids work incredibly hard to put on an excellent show with great musicianship and marching skill. Next time you see them (perhaps at the…Continue

On the eve of election day we ponder who we should elect to serve the residents of Ridley Park.
We have seen and received a lot of literature on the sitting Councilors Bob Berger and Samantha Snow. I have been working with them for the past 3 1/2 years. They are very deceptive people. Berger has been sitting on the Zoning committee, attended the bill board hearings and yet not updated the people of Ridley Park. Workshops are a sham! If you look at the various boards such as zoning…Continue
Let me know if you think this is a great idea! We need an enclosed area to run our dogs. ABC field might be one suggestion.
Was doing research on when the Planet Fitness would open on MacDade. Came across this from an article in Sept. 2013 fro DelcoNews
“We received some grant money from Delaware County to be used for revitalizing MacDade Boulevard,” Willert said. “We are looking into programs that would put landscaping on the islands in the middle of the street at the intersection of MacDade and the Blue Route. That would really spruce that area up.”
I have printed off the current…Continue
