Ridley Park Borough's 2013 Budget

I'm surprised no one is talking about Ridley Park Borough's 2013 budget.  Trash fees in Ridley Park will increase 33% in 2013 and I wonder what more is in store.

The preparation of a Borough's budget is a long and arduous enough task to stymy any municipality our size, however the 2012 holiday calender makes a premium of public meeting…

Insider notes: November's Council Meeting - Did he really say that?

I was wondering if anyone watched the November Council Meeting Wednesday night?  The personal attacks continue to be thrown around when important inquiring questions are being asked.

Mr. Berger our President was asked by Councilor Sue Murtha if the Main Streets financials would be given for the public to observe.  Mr. Berger, in an angry tone, actually replied, maybe we should have all groups financials like the Business Association's too.  Is he kidding?

Juvenile Diabetes Fundraiser coming to RP this Spring, help wanted now.

Did you know that according to the JDRF website, "In the U.S., a new case of diabetes is diagnosed every 30 seconds; more than 1.9 million people are diagnosed each year."

Been here five years

Hey Parkers:

Been living here for almost five years now, and I still don't know what to make of this place. I mean, I love it because it is my home, and I made so many new friends, but I still feel like something of an outsider.

Good Samaritan

A great big thank you to the man who stopped this morning when I twisted my ankle and fell, ripping my knee and hands open. I was on my way to my 2nd day at my new job and he helped me by giving me a ride to work so I didn't have to bus it. I didn't get your name, but I appreciate your kindness.

Winter storm down grade

The Weather channel has down graded the storm to a winter storm watch.  Lower winds and less snow fall.  Seems like it will hit just north of us in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. Also, the borough just announced the Work Shop Council has been postponed.  It was scheduled for 7pm tonight but will be rescheduled for next week some time.  Will keep you posted.

Handyman hard to find

We've been trying to hire a handyman who services Ridley Park.  Reliable, Reputable, References.  Could anyone make a recommendation?   Punch list work, light electrical, light plumbing, general maintenance.  Mostly inside work.  With so many out of work, we didn't think this would be such a difficult task, appreciate any input.

Many thanks
