Ridley Parker's attacks lead DeSales U to VB victory

Thanks to the strong attacks of Ridley Park's Lauren Hickey the DeSales University volleyball team seized second place at the Freedom Conference on Wednesday, Oct 14, 2009 with a decisive 3-zip win over Florham University. Sophomore Lauren lead DeSales attacks scoring a team-high 10 kills and pumped out a .562 hitting percentage. Lauren is a management major and the daughter of Tom and Linda Hickey. Kitchen's really getting a workout this week!

My family and I took our annual trip out to Lancaster County on Monday, and came back with 93 pounds of apples! This may sound like a lot (and indeed it is), but it's actually the average amount we pick each year. Now the real work comes: transforming these beauties into applesauce, pie, and other goodies. I love it, even though it's a challenge to fit into my normal routine. "Stop" finally painted at Dupont and Free

There ya go, it wasn't so hard. A stripe in the road and the word "stop" can go a long way to remind drivers of their civic duty to obey the laws of the state and borough. Thanks to the powers that be for doing this. I am not sure how well it is working because I am back to teaching and unable to continue my role as the Billy Goat Gruff of this intersection. 2009 Ridley Park Historic Preservation Award

The winners of this years Historic Preservation Award are Jeffrey and Lynn Craig of Park Street.
