String of Officer Suicides Rattles DelCo's Police

In the aftermath of a third Delaware County police officer suicide in less than 4 weeks, RPOL reminds our members how important it can be to know our Ridley Park's police officers, to talk with them, and to tell them how much we appreciate their protection in our town; you might just make a friend.

While police officers are supposed to be strong and nearly invincible when they wear their bullet proof vest, sidearm, and uniform, the self-inflicted death of a Darby Borough…

Political Advertising in the US Mail - Dirty Politics

In case you didn't know, I am a life long Republican voter who is so disgusted with the TRASH that is starting to come in the US mail to my home on a weekly basis.  The political advertisements making statements and accusations about candidates.  One in particular has me scratching my head.  Tom McGariggle's advertisement showed up the other day and on one side it has Tom in a suit and tie and color picture stating that he saved refinery jobs.  How did Tom help save the jobs?  Tell me what…

Good News in the Borough! New Shoppe Opens

Check it out, Honeycomb on Dutton Street.  (I had to look up on map for the name of the street!)  It is between Post Office and H2O Nails.)

Honeycomb is a resale shoppe with great clothing and equipment items for children on sale.  The prices are impressive!  Also, for adults she has home accessories, dish sets, tea cups, toss pillows etc.

Do check it out.  The owner is very nice, and she had her 4 year old daughter with her.

Ridley Park Flowers

I don't know about you, but the cool air is welcomed.  It has been an awesome summer.  I lived in Portland, OR for 10 years, and this summer was a Portland summer (except for the down pours).

In OR you mostly planted perrenials, since the winters rarely went below freezing.  Here, I plant mostly perrenials, but add annuals for color. I now live in an apartment, but the area in front of the apartment is considered "ours".  I have added about 20 cu ft of soil over the last 2…
