Ridley Parker hauls in winnings at bass tournament

Boater Joseph Thompson of Ridley Park rounded out the top five boaters on the Chesapeake Bay Sunday at the Walmart Bass Fishing League Northeast Division Tournament. Thompson landed eight bass with a 20 pounds 7 ounces total and hauled in $1,196.00 in winnings. Thanks for the observation

I am not some highway vigilante with nothing better to do during the day. I really don't care if the police issue tickets or not. But I do witness cars flying up and down that hill every single day. I don't have little ones of my own, but there are quite a few in our neighborhood. Stop sign routinely ignored near school

Obviously no one other than myself and the residents near the intersection of Free and Dupont Streets cares enough about the little kids in our neighborhood. All we asked for is a painted white line across the street and the word "STOP" or "SCHOOL." I see these at other intersections in the Borough. Perhaps I will bring this up at the Borough Council meeting tomorrow night where it will be on record, as well as any comments from council members. Seen any hawks lately?

A hawk (unidentified) swooped down right in front of our house one morning this week. It was apparently after one of the multitude of sparrows that were hopping around eating seeds from the grass. My son saw its unsuccessful attempt and found it awesome to see this raptor so close.
