As reported in the Delco Times today, fast moving Ridley Twp police were involved in an accident on MacDade Blvd recently while responding to a call. A man is in ICU as a result. Twp police speed through Ridley Park on a fairly regular basis. Residents of Swarthmore Avenue can attest to this. Why is it that they are allowed to do this, when our own police don't do it? This is a busy street with a lot of pedestrian traffic, bikes, baby strollers, and cars turning onto and off of Swarthmore Ave.…

My buddy Nod D. from Nevin Street and I are are gourd guys - we love growing gourd. Nod's been doing gourds for decades. He grows them all summer and hosts the annual "D" family's pumpkin and gourd decorating party in his barn.

I am waiting anxiously for the "Pineapple" variety to ripen, as I really enjoy the mellow flavor and color of this yellow fruit.
What's up in your garden?

Popular first time Congressman Joe Sestak from Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District today announced he is running to opposed Senator Arlen Spector for Pennsylvania's US Senate seat.

One of Sestak's chief arguments is that when Specter changed parties from Republican to Democrat, he essentially jumped ship to save his own political hide - and to an admiral, jumping ship is akin to treason. Specter 79, who's has been a Republic for over 4…
