Am I only one without cable now going into 2nd + day? Web says they are aware of the problem. Phone says it will be fixed by...but they miss the deadline. Anyone knows wha gives?
Someone please tell me why we have a borough manager. I have left several phone messages and not one gets returned. I have stopped in Borough Hall only to find that the borough manager arrives sometime after 11:00 am. I have gone to Borough Hall to find the manager is out to lunch at 2:00 pm. I returned to borough hall to find that she has not returned from lunch and its 4:30.
Can someone tell me what we pay this person and why that position is even necessary if it is…Continue
New to the site and, relatively, a newbie to the Borough. Are the approved Annual Budgets available at the hall to the public so that we are advised of where the tax dollars are allocated?
After a rash of attempted burglaries in the Milmont Park and Woodlyn areas, Ridley Township police are urging residents to lock their doors and be on the lookout for a suspicious white female who claims she is in search of her lost dog.
According to Ridley Township Police, she had been going door to door and knocking on the doors to see if anyone answers. When no one answers, the woman tries the door knob and enters if the door is unlocked. When someone answers the door,…Continue

One of the many Mr. Hickey rants at the council meeting the other night was about the borough enacting an ordinance that curtails a homeowner's ability to have a yard sale. Once again the ones who want to enact an ordinance that limits our rights, don't have to abide by the same rules. Are you kidding me that there is a "problem" with "Yard Sales" in Ridley Park? Where? The only one that I've seen that is not a problem is one where a property has been sold / or is…Continue
Ridley Park Borough Council took steps to address abandoned or unkempt properties last week, by announcing an abatement program that will be handled by A to U Services, Inc. of Sharon Hill. Barbara …Continue
For those of you who missed last night's meeting (or for anyone who watched at home on Verizon with no sound) you missed a change in the Public Comments portion of the meeting. As unbelievable as it is, the same President, Bob Berger, who is so quick to bang his gavel, shout and threaten to have people removed for questioning the budget or property lines, did nothing while Mr. Roy Hickey ranted, cursed repeatedly and called residents "Cry-babies" and "Whiners." I cannot believe that Bob…Continue
By mid afternoon today Ridley Park will experience the hottest temperatures of the year. Temperatures will hold in the mid 90's along with high humidity which creates the potential for heat related illness. The previous sever thunderstorm warning…
The Ridley Park Republican's leader Roy Hickey.
What a performance last night at the monthly council meeting. That was so well staged that I think Bob Berger should get a nomination for Best Director. Mr. Berger suddenly allowed Mr. Hickey about 15 minutes of assaulting and personal attacks on Larry Langguth and Charlie Marone, two business owners in the downtown district. The political tones and direction of the insults were so obvious. Not to mention Mr. Hickey's…Continue
Does anyone know whether the borough fireworks display at the lake is scheduled this year? Would it be July 4 or July 5?
Could not find it on the borough website
Recently. Tim Devaney commented that if each resident is allowed five minutes to speak before council then he would like to give his five minutes to Andy Furman. AND as Tim said each of the residents could give their five minutes to a person of theit choice. What great plan! We all know that when Andy goes to the podium he asks important questions that deserve answers. The questions usually pertain to budget expenses and methods of managment that council, unless pressed, doesn't…Continue
Just to let everyone know Ridley Park Borough lost another frivolous charge against a resident about a private property line issue. One that a borough should NEVER have been involved in. The borough Manager and Chief of Police decided to "take the law into their own hands" a while back and file "criminal charges" against a resident to appease another resident who they called "friend". The President of Council was clearly on board with this practice to have the borough…Continue
Wednesday night, June 4, 10:45 pm, a truck drove around the neighborhood of Recreation Park, Barker Street, Thayer, Park Street and Tasker, spraying something into the air. A light rain was falling with more heavy rain predicted overnight.
WHAT IS THE BOROUGH SPRAYING?
WHERE will they continue the spraying?
WHEN will more spraying take place?
WHAT are the health/safety risks to us as a result of exposure to unknown chemicals?
My neighbor and lifelong Ridley Parker Jim Schreiber, died on May 27, 2014 and he's surely one Parker most of us knew - and all of us will miss. Most of us knew Jim as the affable, smiling, bearded guy who owned County Saving Bank, and the one who walked his dogs around our borough spreading friendly conversation and good tidings to everyone he met.
There are still no arrests six weeks after a teenager was struck by a hit-and-run driver at Sellers Avenue and Chester Pike in Ridley Park. FoxPhilly followed up with the victim's family who is wanting an arrest and justice for what happened on April 21st.
Meanwhile, police said they’re closing in on putting the person responsible behind bars.
Fox 29's Drew Dickman spoke with victim’s family, who says they’re running out of patience.
It's been six weeks of agony…Continue

Is anyone aware of a noise ordinance for how early there can be loud noises on weekends? I ask because of a hedge trimmer at 8:30 yesterday (Saturday) and a car being vacuumed at 9:00 this (Sunday) morning. Seemed a shame to break the beauty of the early morning and/or wake up sleepers.
Of course my next step would be figuring out how to tell the "offender" about the ordinance....
