Ridley Park's new cameras, vehicle break-ins and vacation home checks

Ridley Park Fire Department announced they have received a federal grant for the purchase of two thermal imaging cameras.  The infrared, night vision, cameras allow firefighters to see a human's heat signature in dense smoke.

Their two new cameras will replace the two twenty year old ones the department currently uses.

The Borough of Ridley Park is assembling a list of vacant homes in Ridley Park Borough and the Borough is requesting the help of RPOL members with the Ridley Park Vacant Home Project.

Microphone problems at council meetings

 Hi Linda.  Hard mikes are ones that look like the  regular mikes we see that have wiring connections.  The mikes we use now are aboout size of thumb and are wireless.  They were supposed to be better  than old style,  But, they have been a continual aggravation.  At the last council meeting they made reference to brining back the old mikes that are stored downstairs.  I think the old mikes were much more reliable  and that we wasted money

Ridley Park Library will remain open from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays during the Farmers Market for the convenience of patrons. Summer Youth Theatre Workshop Enrollment

The Barnstormers will be offering two summer youth theater workshops for youth ages 8-18.  Classes start June 24th running through July 12th.  Classes are Monday through Friday 9am to Noon with performances July 12, 13 and 14 for ANNIE  JR.
