RP resident Mike Gale published a terrific letter to the editor in the Delco Times today. He corrects a mistake in the news article about council’s last meeting (still untelevised I guess?). The letter explains very clearly the zoning ordinance flim-flam the council used to erect the illegal billboard in Hetzel…Continue

For anyone who missed the RP Borough monthly meeting on Wednesday night, May 21, Council passed new ordinances (concerning animals, sidewalks, soliciting and parking tickets.) I am posting this because I don't know if anyone was aware of these ordinances and that they were up for vote on Wednesday. (I sure wasn't.)
The handout given during the meeting only said "Ordinances" and a VERY brief description of each. There was nothing about voting for these ordinances. Nor were…Continue

Are we living in the USSR , circa 1970? Our Council is now telling residents they can only speak for a certain length of time AND they are not allowed to ask questions. Isn't that what Socialist countries tell their citizens? What is so funny is that one of the Councilors is the same person who as a resident, a few years back, came to the council podium and DAMANDED answers about his section of the borough on a monthly basis: Peyton Place; I mean Kearney Place. Yes, remember Jim Glenn…Continue

Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has lowered its rating on the Central Delaware County Authority, which pipes waste water out of 10 townships and boroughs, two full notches, to A- from A+. Analyst Alexander Vargas cited "inadequate" revenues to cover its debt service, and a practice of using working capital to make bond payments, since the authority borrowed money for sewer upgrades four years ago. …Continue

Just came back from the lake and looked at the $40,000.00 fountain that has been sitting in front of the fountain building. Word has it that someone was "working" on it today. What I noticed is now the lights have all been removed. Also missing is the motor. The same motor that Our Borough Engineer unequivocally stated was not burned out. We were told that there were problems with the circuits tripping, but it did not necessarily mean the motor was the problem. I believe he even said…Continue
