Delaware County Republicans endorsed Mary McFall Hopper for Sheriff in the May Primary Election. Mary is regulatory counsel for Aqua America and a lifetime resident of Ridley Park. On the other side, McFall will likely face-off against endorsed Democras Rocco Polidoro. Polidoro heads the Springfield American Legion and a Springfield Insurance Agency.

In her annual report to Ridley Park Council Feb. 19, library director Mary Alice Walsh said 27,000 items were circulated by the library in 2012, including 1,700 new materials added throughout the course of the year. There are more than 3,700 members with more than 200 new members added last year.

On Thursday February 21, 2013 a small energetic group of residents gathered at Borough Hall to re-ignite the recently dormant Ridley Park Historical Society.
