Ridley School District sets 3.1% cap on 2016-2017 Budget

At its January meeting, the Ridley School Board approved the Act 1 budget resolution for 2016-2017. This provides that the school district will not increase local property taxes in excess of the Act 1 Index.  The Act 1 index is set by the PA Department of Education and it presently set at 3.1%.

Ridley T-Shirt Design Contest

Delaware County students are invited to design a new logo for the 2016 Ridley Run. The Ridley Run is a 5K Race beginning at the Eastern Delaware County Community YMCA and ending at the Ridley High School.

The event benefits the Community YMCA’s (CYEDC) Annual Support Campaign and the Ridley Educational Foundation (REF). This is a community-wide family event with runners and walkers of all ages taking part in this fundraiser.

Record Snow Fall from Winter Storm Jonas

Record daily maximum snowfall record set at Philadelphia International Airport near Ridley Park

A total of 19.4 inches of snow fell at the Philadelphia International Airport on Saturday, establishing a new record for the date. The previous record daily maximum snowfall for January 23 was 11.9 inches set in 1935.

Please Remember to Keep Your Hydrants Clear!

Hydrants buried under snow are a threat to public safety.  Firefighters shouldn't have to waste precious time during a fire,  first finding a hidden hydrant, and then digging it out for use.

Franklin Mint Credit Union offers branch inside Ridley High School

A student branch of the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union is in the works at Ridley High School. School principal Dr. Kenneth Acker, submitted a request to the School Board in January meeting for the branch bank. Ridley Park Christmas Tree Recycling

Ridley Park Borough will collect used Christmas trees on the first three Wednesday's of January 2016.  January 6, 13, 20.

Since the Christmas tree recycling project was initialted by Bob Berger in 2009, it's been an annual part of Ridley Park's effort to go green.
