For some reason on the morning of Jan. 8, a Ridley Township widow did something she would rarely do: Answer a call that came up blocked on her Caller ID.
About as fast as she said hello, the 78-year-old was sucked into a granny scam that took her for more than $8,000. As in most similar cases, the thief or thieves got away with more than just the victim’s money. …Continue
I don't know what happened with the deal to build a Ridley Township Community Center way out by Boeing, which btw would logistically make no sense. A rec center in RP however would be a great idea. The building next to the RP Athletic Club would be perfect. It is for sale at less than $200,000. I had thought of it as a police station, but found out RP has one, just not centrally located.
It could include a drop in child care, and after school program for chess, pool, and…Continue

We need to keep shops in business in the borough. Delaware County isn't necessarily a walking community, but RP can be different. We need to support the shoppes and encourage new business. There are several vacant store fronts. The Black Salt Cafe and Steak-Ums has closed. (Some said it had the best cheese steaks!)
These closures don't help the other shoppes. We need pedestrian traffic. What can we do? We have a great footprint in the borough, a great train stop,…Continue

Went to my first one every tonight. They are not as exciting as you might expect... I was hoping to make a comment about the importance of keeping the borough website up to date (last council minutes are from JUNE), but time got short. Another time, perhaps?
I recevied a notice that Rose Tree Investors are again trying to pave over the lot behind Parker at 32w Sellers for more parking. the hearing is 1/17at 7 in Council Chambers. I will be out of town on buisness but wanted the public to know. I thought this was a dead issue. If this is allowed whats from allowing them to tear down any home along that strech and put in more parking. Why doesn't the owner buy the lot behind his own home in Rose Valley or where ever it is a bus them here. …Continue

How many of you have seen this movie, filmed in part in our own Ridley Park and now nominated for a bunch of Academy Awards? I'll admit that I had dismissed it from my mind, but now I am going to make a point of seeing it. Can you actually tell you're seeing Ridley Park?
I recently started working with Eye Innovations. Our services include adult and pediatric eye care, spectacle and contact lenses, CRT (Corneal Refractive Therapy, it's an alternative to LASIK), prescription sun, sport, safety and occupational eyewear, and medical/surgical (e.g. LASIK and cataract) co-management.
I am really picky when it comes to who to take my child to for any type of care. Out of all the eye doctor's I have gone to over the years for myself. I would continue…Continue
