Let's celebrate some good news - here's a nice writeup of a recent marching band competition, with special attention to our own Ridley Raider Marching Band.
Is anyone aware of a noise ordinance for how early there can be loud noises on weekends? I ask because of a hedge trimmer at 8:30 yesterday (Saturday) and a car being vacuumed at 9:00 this (Sunday) morning. Seemed a shame to break the beauty of the early morning and/or wake up sleepers.
Of course my next step would be figuring out how to tell the "offender" about the ordinance....
I am wondering whose responsibility it is to make sure a pedestrian can get from a sidewalk ACROSS A STREET these days. I recognize that the homeowner must clear his walk, I know the borough clears the streets, but who handles the mountainous no man's land created in between the two?
The Ridley High School marching band plays for football games, but did you know they also compete? On Sunday November 10 they went to the states championships in Hershey, and took SECOND PLACE competing against 11 other bands in their division, with a score of 92.8. They also took the award for best percussion and most improved.

Ridley Park Library will remain open from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays during the Farmers Market for the convenience of patrons. Residents who shop at the market can also stop in the library to check out books, DVDs, pick up their reserved books, use the public computers or take a break from the heat in the cool library.
