Clean-up @ The Lake with Mr Clean

If you don't know Jared and you don't know how he works, there's another chance to join him at The Lake this Saturday. Jarad's been the ring leader of the cleanup at the Maintenance Buildings and the clean-up in the Central Business District last weekend. This weekend's clean-up promises to be a cool dunk in The Lake for anyone who shows up.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 21,2010, 8:30 AM   
- bring a pair of gloves and wear appropriate clothes.  
- bring a metal rake if you have one!

The area around the perimeter of the lake has become overtaken by weeds and brush. With the help of Ridley United Soccer, local residents, and Tinicum Township's rescue boats, Mr Clean and his crew of volunteers will set out this Saturday to clean up The Lake of trees, weeds, overgrown shrubs and plants!

There will be workers in the water with waders and boats to move debris. Other volunteers are needed to help haul the vine-weeds onto the embankment so our Highway Department can carry them away once they dry out. It sounds like a mess or hard work and a splash in The Lake to me.

If you can't make it this weekend, then at least give Jared Brennan a beep of your horn and a wave of the hand when you see him - or thank him in person for taking on the job of being Ridley Park's Mr. Clean.
